Following and unfollowing people should not be taken personally. If you like someone’s content, follow them. But if you do not like them, unfollowing them is a good option. Even I do that sometimes, it’s not a big deal.

Also, do not just follow users to unfollow them back later, eventually, those users will also unfollow you. 

How To Unfollow Someone On TikTok?

Unfollowing people on TikTok is very simple. Here is a step-by-step guide to show you how to unfollow someone on TikTok. 

Step 1:

 Open the TikTok app on your phone. 

Step 2: 

Go to the Profile icon which is present in the bottom right corner. 

Step 3: 

Click on the Following tab. 

Step 4:  

You will find there a list of users who follow you

Step 5:  

Click on the follow button which is next to the user’s name to unfollow that person

Keep tapping the unfollow button for all the users and this way you can unfollow all the users manually. However, keep in mind that you can only unfollow 150-200 people in one day. If you exceed this limit, TikTok might impose a shadow ban on your account. 

If you have less than 150 TikTok followers, then this method might help. However, if you have a large number of followers, unfollowing them manually is a bit challenging. Moreover, TikTok has also imposed a daily limit on following and unfollowing users. Even other apps like Instagram have a limit on this.

So, another way to unfollow everyone is by replying to third-party apps. These apps are designed to follow as well as unfollow people in bulk. In the next section, we are going to discuss this in detail.

Unfortunately, TikTok does not give a feature of unfollowing people all at once. Either you can manually unfollow people and get rid of your followers or you can rely on third-party apps that can unfollow people at once.

SocialPire is another third-party application that will help you to get mass unfollowing users on TikTok. It is Cloud-based TikTok automation software. You can not only automate features of following/unfollowing but have other advanced features that can help you to grow your account.

TikTok Unfollower is a Google Chrome Extension that can unfollow people in bulk and its best part is, it is free to use. You can install the extension from the Chrome Store.

However, you cannot use this extension on your mobile phone. You will either require a PC or a laptop to use this extension. 

Here we’ve provided a small step-by-step guide to installing the Unfollower Chrome Extension:

Step 1: 

Go to the Google Chrome Store and search for TikTok Unfollower Extension.

Step 2: 

Parallel to it, you will find a button of Add to Chrome.

Step 3: 

On your Chrome tab, log into your TikTok account.

Step 4:

Go to the Following tab of your account.

Step 5: 

Switch on the Chrome extension.

Step 6:

 Add the maximum and the minimum values. Also, add the limit.  

Always keep the limit below 150. TikTok has set the unfollow limit to 150, which means if you unfollow more than 150 people in a day, your account can get deactivated or shadowbanned. I’ve observed a lot of accounts getting shadown banned because of this reason.

Also, these parameters are important. If you set the wrong parameters, TikTok might mistake your account for a bot. It is advisable that you keep them as default. If you have a huge following, unfollow less than 150 on a daily basis. 

Step 7: 

Once you’ve set all the values, click on Start.

How to Unfollow Disabled/Banned accounts on TikTok?

If a TikTok user has disabled their account or their account has been banned, their name will not appear in your following list.

In this case, I’d suggest, if you want to unfollow them, go to your following list and search “Tik Toker” and then some profiles might appear with no name and profile picture. Manually unfollow all of them.
